AS the new series of The X Factor hits our television screens again this weekend, a former finalist from the ITV reality show is coming to Hatfield for a gig.
The Forum Hertfordshire is set to open its doors to Janet Devlin later this month.
The Irish songstress will bring her brand of lyrical folk music to the Forum’s Attic on Sunday, September 15, with support from London/Herts indie-acoustic duo Wayward Daughter.
The concert is in support of Janet’s debut album Hide & Seek, launched and released through PledgeMusic in July.
On the album, she wrote and recorded with Grammy and Ivor Novello award-winning songwriter and producer Eliot Kennedy, as well as co-writing tracks with the likes of Newton Faulkner and Jack Savoretti.
The former X Factor contestant had very little singing experience before Kelly Rowland chose her for the live shows in 2011.
She now has YouTube videos with more than 10.5 million views worldwide.
Wayward Daughter are made up of vocalist Lydia McAllister and guitarist Becky East.
The duo began writing music together in 2010 when they started uploading covers to YouTube.
They supported McFly in Easter 2012 and released their first studio EP, How Long Will You Wander, through PledgeMusic earlier this year.
Tickets for Janet Devlin at The Forum Hertfordshire, on the University of Hertfordshire’s College Lane campus, cost £9.56 (including fees).
