You can listen to the interview with the Monkey Gone To Heaven stars here.

Founding members of the band Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering all feature in the lengthy chat.

The alt-rockers were the first headliner to be announced for the Victoria Park showcase, which runs from Saturday June 7 to Sunday June 8.

Electronic act Metronomy were revealed as Saturday’s headliners last week.

Founding member Joe Mounty said: “I’m very, very excited (about playing Field Day).

“It’s the first time we’ve officially headlined a festival so it’s a big deal for us...It was a really, really nice experience last time so we are very much looking forward to it.”
