ELECTRO pop pioneers The Human League have announced a concert date in Hatfield for later in the year.
The band’s 14-date UK tour starting at the Brighton Dome on November 23 and taking in London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall on November 26, will culminate at the Forum Hertfordshire on Monday, December 10.
The tour celebrates the group’s 35 years in the music business and is titled XXXV.
Most famous for 1981 chart-topper Don’t You Want Me from landmark album Dare, The Human League – Philip Oakey, Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley – have inspired a host of today’s synth-driven female pop artists, such as La Roux, Little Boots and even Lady Gaga.
And the likes of Madonna, Moby, Pet Shop Boys and Robbie Williams have also cited them as an influence.
Tickets for the group’s Hatfield concert cost £25 in advance and are available from the College Lane venue’s website at www.forumhertfordshire.co.uk, via www.ticketweb.co.uk or by phoning 08444 77100.
