Standon Calling 2013 festival headliner and line-up announcement soon

ORGANISERS of Standon Calling 2013 have locked in another headliner for this summer’s music festival being held in the Hertfordshire countryside.

American hip-hop legends De La Soul have already been announced for the three-day music event taking place at Standon Lordship, near Ware, from Friday, August 2 to Sunday, August 4.

And the festival’s official Twitter handle tweeted last week: “Just confirmed another headliner”

The act in question hasn’t been named yet, but is expected to be revealed soon.

Ahead of the imminent line-up announcement, promoters are asking for feedback and suggestions from families who have attended Standon Calling or are intending to go this summer.

Festival bosses want suggestions of what entertainment should be on offer for youngsters.

Once again all under-13s will gain free entry to the 2013 festival, provided they attend with a ticket-holding adult.

Already new this year will be a ‘You and Me’ kid’s photo-booth complete with props to pose.

And for the first time Standon Calling will include a children’s category in the annual themed fancy dress competition.

The kid’s area, in a quiet corner of the manor house lawn, will feature face painting, the legendary craft area complete with badge making, storytelling, yoga classes, drama workshops, interactive theatre, Maurice’s reggae nursery rhymes and the ever-popular Punch and Judy show.

For the really young ones there’s a ‘sense’ play area and baby massages.

Set behind a white picket fence in a more tranquil part of the festival site, Standon Calling’s kid’s area is designed to provide children’s entertainment and give parents a chance to relax alongside their little ones.

As well as first confirmed headliners De La Soul, also set for 2013’s event will be interactive theatre, art installations, a swimming pool, onsite nightclub, a dog show and much more.

On the ticket front, half of this summer’s campervan slots have sold out.
