Trio Band Of Skulls were confirmed today (Tuesday) for the family-friendly August event in the Hertfordshire countryside.

Also added to the Standon 2013 line-up are hotly-tipped band of the moment Bastille, AlunaGeorge and King Charles.

The Correspondents, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Belakiss, Bibelots, New Groove Formation, Stills and Annie Dale were also announced this morning.

Blues-rock trio Band Of Skulls will be the second headliner at Standon Calling, joining previously announced hip-hop legends De La Soul at the feelgood summer bash being held in the grounds of Standon Lordship, near Ware, from Friday, August 2 to Sunday, August 4.

Their gritty, harmony-heavy tracks have won them the admiration and respect of both fans and critics, seeing the band rocket from their Southampton origins to shows in Austin’s South By South West and supporting Muse in America.

Also taking to the stage at Standon Calling are some of the hottest, must-see acts for 2013, including electro-pop outfits Bastille and AlunaGeorge.

Bastille have enjoyed extensive radio plays for singles Bad Blood and Flaws and their debut album is released next month.

Coming second in BBC’s Sound of 2013 poll and with a BRIT Award Critics Choice shortlist place under their belts, AlunaGeorge may well prove to be one of this summer’s highlights.

Another addition comes in the form of the dandy-esque King Charles.

The solo artist has toured and recorded with Grammy winners Mumford and Sons and will be adding a touch of psychedelic infused folk and glam pop to proceedings.

Swing/hip-hop, reggae fusion, rock ‘n’ roll, electronic and ska sounds are all covered elsewhere in the additions of The Correspondents, Gentlemen’s Dub Club, Belakiss, Bibelots, New Groove Formation and Stills.

Local band Revere and singer-songwriter Annie Dale are also confirmed in the first of a number of Hertfordshire acts to play the music festival this year.

Early bird camping tickets for Standon Calling 2013 have now sold out.

However, tier one weekend tickets can be purchased at £99 each.

Under-13s get in free when accompanied by a ticket holding adult.
