Space expert Jerry Stone will take a light-hearted look at spaceflight in a talk called ‘The day they launched a woodpecker: an alternative history of space exploration’.

Tickets are £5, £2.50 for concessions and under-16s go free.

For tickets, ask at your library or call 0300 123 4049.

* WGC Library will also be holding a local history event the same day.

If you have memories or photos of the town that you would like to share, pop along to the library between 10am and 4pm and volunteers and staff will upload them to the ‘Our WGC’ website.
