Organisers are set to reveal more of the line-up for music festival Sonisphere 2014 at Knebworth Park.
The international touring festival returns to the grounds of Knebworth House from Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6.
So far just three bands have been announced, with headliners The Prodigy, Iron Maiden and Metallica all confirmed for the three-day rock and metal bash in the Hertfordshire countryside.
Promoters of the European roaming festival are set to make a new line-up announcement “soon”.
The festival’s Twitter account @sonisphere tweeted yesterday (Thursday): “Announcement news coming soon. Stay tuned”
Replying to another tweet about when more bands will be announced, Sonisphere posted: “Won’t be too long now”
Of the groups so far announced, The Prodigy will play the opening Friday night at Knebworth.
Metal legends Iron Maiden and Metallica will exclusively headline Sonisphere’s UK leg over the following two days.
The two bands have never appeared on the same UK bill before, and will be playing no other dates in Britain this year.
Bruce Dickinson and his Iron Maiden colleagues will bring their highly-acclaimed Maiden England World Tour to a spectacular finale at Knebworth on the Saturday, playing some songs live for the last time ever.
Metallica, meanwhile, will close the festival with their interactive ‘By Request’ set, with ticket holders able to vote online for any tracks from the band’s 140-song catalogue.
The 17 most popular choices will be performed on the Sunday night. A new track will also be chosen by Metallica.
Early bird weekend tickets for Sonisphere 2014 are on sale now.
They are available from the Sonisphere Festival website.
Day tickets for Knebworth have not gone on sale yet.
