Tickets for rock music festival Sonisphere 2014 at Knebworth Park have gone on sale.
Early bird weekend passes for the festival went on sale earlier today (Monday) after the three-day event’s huge co-headliners were confirmed.
British heavy metal veterans Iron Maiden and American thrash metal pioneers Metallica will both play the UK leg of the international touring festival in the grounds of the Hertfordshire stately home next July.
A limited number of early bird camping tickets to see the two legendary bands over the weekend of Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6 are available now. They will cost £170.
Sonisphere’s popular deposit scheme is also back for 2014.
Festival-goers who do not have the cash straight away to pay in full for a ticket can still secure one by putting down a non-refundable deposit of £50 and paying off the balance at a later date.
The scheme does not apply to Rock Royalty tickets.
All Knebworth campsites will open on Thursday, July 3 at 1pm and close at noon on Monday, July 7.
Under-16s attending must be accompanied by an adult. Children under five are not advised but will be admitted.
"We said in 2013 that if we had the right line-up then we would be back, and that’s exactly what we’ve got in 2014."
Fans who purchase tickets online will be invited to vote on the set list Metallica will play at the show.
Metallica’s traditional 18-song set will include the 17 top voted songs and, as the band did not want to be left out of the fun, they get to vote for the 18th slot, which will be a new track.
Ticker holders will be able to visit www.metallica.com to see what songs fellow fans are voting for and the results of their specific shows.
