DESPITE not returning to Knebworth Park this year, Sonisphere organisers have confirmed more European festivals.

The UK leg of the international touring rock and metal bonanza is “taking a year off” in 2013, meaning no Sonisphere in the grounds of Knebworth House for the second summer running after 2012’s shock cancellation.
However, promoters have now confirmed two Sonispheres for Spain, to go with the already announced European trips to Italy and France.
British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden will headline Sonisphere Spain in Madrid at the Miguel Rios Auditorium on Friday, May 31.
Bruce Dickinson and co will then take their Maiden England tour, which recreates the stage show of their Seventh Son Tour of 1988, to the Parc Del Forum in Barcelona on Saturday, June 1.
The line-up will also include Danzig, Ghost and Avantasia.
Iron Maiden, who headlined at Knebworth in 2010, have also been confirmed for this summer’s Sonisphere shows in France and Italy.
Organisers today (Monday) confirmed the addition of Megadeth, Ghost, Voodoo Six and Mastodon to the Italian leg in Milan on June 8.
Iron Maiden are set to play Download Festival 2013 at Donington Park in this country.
