The touring pop-punk, ska, metal and rock event returns to the University of Hertfordshire for Slam Dunk South on Sunday, May 25.

Promoters have added two more bands to the line-up of the three-day festival, which also visits Leeds and Wolverhampton over the same weekend, and announced DJ Yoda for the dance arena.

Joining exclusive main stage headliners The All-American Rejects will be Brighton-based rising stars Verses, who will be releasing their much-anticipated debut album Feel It Faster on Monday, May 26 – the day of Slam Dunk Midlands at Wolverhampton Civic.

They are currently touring the UK with LostAlone, who played at The Horn pub in St Albans recently.

Also announced are hard-working Birmingham pop-punk band Light You Up.

The group said: “We’ve been coming to Slam Dunk for years and we’re delighted to be invited to play this year. Every year has a great party atmosphere and I’m sure this year will be no different. Bring it on!”

The Uprawr DJ stage is now also confirmed, with the national club brand bringing their legendary parties into the mix.

Slam Dunk is pleased to announce this will include a massive headline slot from one of the biggest party DJs in the UK, DJ Yoda.

Duncan Beiny, aka DJ Yoda, is no ordinary scratch DJ. His seminal How To Cut & Paste series showcased a tongue-in-cheek mixing style that prompted Q Magazine to declare him “one of the ten DJs to see before you die”, while Hip Hop Connection voted him “one of the top three DJs in the world”.

From his hip-hop beginnings, DJ Yoda has evolved in the past 10 years, using his turntable skills and influences as diverse as funk, b-more, kuduro, reggae, drum ‘n’ bass and even big band swing and country & western, to make unashamed party music.

No stranger to cutting the Indiana Jones theme with woofer-worrying dubstep, or the Muppet Theme with 1930s swing, his shows are peppered with film, TV and YouTube samples and visuals that lift his sets to new and stratospheric heights.

Tek One, a Slam Dunk Festival regular, will also return for an exclusive DJ set, filled with his usual mix of rock inspired dubstep to promote his new album, Sleep Equals Myth.

The stage will be finished off by Slam Dunk and Uprawr residents and special guests.

Tickets are priced at £35, and £39 with afterparty across all sites.
