THE first bands have been confirmed for the 2013 Slam Dunk Festival in Hatfield.
The pop-punk, ska, metal and rock music festival returns next year with three dates – at Leeds University on Saturday, May 25, at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield on Sunday, May 26 and at a new Midlands venue – the Wolverhampton Civic – on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27.
And the 2013 Slam Dunk tour headliners will be All Time Low, Maryland’s finest pop-punkers.
“We’re always excited to come to the UK, it’s never dull over there! This is going to be phenomenal,” said vocalist and guitarist Alex Gaskarth.
The Slam Dunk South line-up at the Forum Hertfordshire in Hatfield, also includes Pierce The Veil, Streetlight Manifesto, Woe Is Me, The Early November, The Wonder Years, Fireworks, Four Year Strong, The Story So Far, Senses Fail, The Skints and Polar Bear Club, with more to be announced.
Pierce the Veil join the bill at the College Lane venue having a sold-out UK tour under their belts, being the most talked about band on the US Warped tour and a fantastic new album.
“We are stoked to announce that we are playing Slam Dunk next year,” said PTV’s Vic Fuentes.
“We have heard nothing but amazing things about this festival from all our friends who have played it before.
“Plus, since it falls during our headlining run, it will be great to play amongst so many of our friends who will no doubt be there too”
Ska-punk will be making a return to Slam Dunk in the form of New Jersey’s Streetlight Manifesto. This will be the first time they have played the UK in years.
Slam Dunk will also boast a 2013 festival exclusive appearance by Massachusetts pop punk/melodic hardcore band Four Year Strong.
The band were last over in the UK for the Blink-182 arena dates and they played Slam Dunk in Hatfield a couple of years ago.
The Early November will also exclusively play their first shows on UK shores since their reformation at Slam Dunk.
Festival owner Ben Ray said: “Once again I am pleased to have such a great line-up to announce.
“I hope fans across the country will continue to support the growth of a homegrown UK festival, and let’s make 2013 a big one together.”
Tickets for Slam Dunk’s North, South and Midlands legs go on sale on Friday, December 7 at 10am.
All shows are 14 plus and aftershows 18 plus.
Tickets are £34, or £38 including the infamous aftershow party.
