YOU’VE seen the band on stage, got the tour T-shirt, struggled home in the rain... and now you can listen to a full live recording of the gig.

To combat poor quality live copies, RHCP fans can download professionally recorded and mixed full concerts from the band’s current tour – including the Californian quartet’s two England dates at Knebworth Park on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday’s show at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.

Each gig will be available for purchase in MP3, true CD quality FLAC and iTunes-friendly Apple Lossless formats, with the Knebworth show recorded and mixed by Adam Noble.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – singer Anthony Kiedis, guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, drummer Chad Smith and bassist Flea – opened their 80,000-capacity Hertfordshire gig with recent single Monarchy of Roses before blasting out Around the World, Dani California and Otherside.

The Knebworth set list also included Can’t Stop, Soul to Squeeze and chart-topping hit The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie – rather apt considering the wet weather.

The Chilis later played classic track Under the Bridge, which was described as “awesome” by Welwyn Hatfield Times reporter Mark Hemmings in the crowd.

However, the likes of Scar Tissue and The Zephyr Song were notable absentees from the set list.

The band rounded off their main set with a cover of Stevie Wonder song Higher Ground, Californication, Factory of Faith from recent number one album I’m With You and By the Way.

The six-song encore included Sir Psycho Sexy, Suck My Kiss and Give It Away.

  • The chaos at Knebworth had absolutely nothing to do with the rain, come on!! Adequate lighting on the night would work what ever the weather!! I really did not see any evidence that peoples safety had been given much thought !!!!!
