Paintings, sculptures and photographs by the winners of last year’s Open Exhibition have gone on display at The New Maynard Gallery, in the Hawthorne Theatre Foyer, at Campus West.

The gallery’s latest show features work by painter Brenda Mathieson, sculptor Pratima Kramer and photographer Rachel Dunsdon.

Mel Henson, trustee of The New Maynard Gallery, said: “For all three of them it has been a huge boost to their careers to win the competition last year.

“Pratima has gone on to have sell out shows in commercial galleries.

“This was Brenda’s first solo exhibition but already she has been asked to have another exhibition in Royston next year, while Rachel recently gained her LRPS [Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society] qualification.”

The opening was attended by new Welwyn Hatfield mayor Les Page and the exhibition runs until September 13.
