Wilkestock Charity Music Festival

Wilkestock Charity Music Festival

An independent charity music festival with a growing reputation kicks off in the Hertfordshire countryside near Watton-at-Stone today (Friday).

Wilkestock returns to the fields of brothers Tom and Olly Wilkes at Frogmore Hill between Watton and Walkern from today (Friday) until Sunday, August 31.

The festival began as an outdoor party for a few friends in 2006 and has grown in size over the years.

Last summer’s event attracted more than 1,500 people to the Wilkes’ fields and the 2014 line-up will showcase the best local talent alongside big UK names.

Spread across three days, the bill includes the likes of Ms Dynamite, Rage Against the Machine tribute act Enraged, Chas & his Band – otherwise known as Chas Hodges from Chas & Dave – and JCB Song chart-toppers Nizlopi.

Split over a number of stages and venues, the action-packed event be will raising money for two charities, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and Keswick Mountain Rescue.

Enraged are scheduled to headline the main stage tonight (Friday), with Ms Dynamite rounding off proceedings on Saturday.

Sunday will see Nizlopi play the main stage while the acoustic Bella’s Stage will feature Folkstock acts.

Standard weekend tickets cost from £45, and day tickets are also on sale.
