The three-day rock and metal extravaganza will return to the grounds of Knebworth House from Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6.

Headlined by The Prodigy, Iron Maiden and Metallica, the UK leg of the international touring festival will help celebrate the iconic Hertfordshire venue’s rock history.

The likes of Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Frank Turner, Anthrax, Slayer, The Sisters of Mercy, Gary Numan, Alice In Chains and Dream Theater are also on the bill.

Team Sonisphere member and Kili Live booker Alan Day (@alandayrocks) confirmed yesterday (Sunday) via his Twitter feed that there will be a new line-up announcement this week.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, he tweeted: “hard at work on a Sunday preparing our @sonisphere announcements this week.”

Sonisphere’s official Twitter feed tweeted today (Monday): “.@alandayrocks worked all weekend and we now have an announcement on wednesday. Thanks Alan..”

The band announcement will be made at 5pm on Wednesday, April 9.
