After announcing the UK debut of Japanese viral sensations Babymetal, another 11 bands will be confirmed for Knebworth’s Sonisphere 2014 festival line-up today (Wednesday).

The three-day rock and metal event returns to the grounds of Knebworth House from Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6, with The Prodigy, Iron Maiden and Metallica headlining.

Team Sonisphere confirmed the addition of Japan’s Babymetal yesterday (Tuesday).

Since uploading latest single Gimme Chocolate less than two months ago, the teenage trio’s blend of pop and heavy metal has generated more than 5.6 million views on YouTube.

They will play the Bohemia tent at Sonisphere Knebworth on the Sunday.

A statement yesterday from organisers added: “Look out for another announcement with eleven more bands tomorrow at 5pm.”

Individual day and weekend tickets for the international touring festival’s UK leg are on sale now at www.sonisphere.co.uk
