The UK’s biggest independent touring festival returns to the University of Hertfordshire, in Hatfield, on Sunday, May 25, with The All-American Rejects headlining.

Slam Dunk South at the Forum Hertfordshire complex in College Lane follows the three-day festival’s North leg in Leeds on the Saturday and precedes Slam Dunk Midlands in Wolverhampton on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26.

After finally making a first line-up announcement last month, promoters will reveal more of the bill on Wednesday.

Posting a status update on the festival’s Facebook page last week, organiser Ben Ray said: “Day of next announcement is now confirmed! A week today... Wednesday 5th March!”

However, the previously confirmed H20 will no longer play the pop-punk, ska, rock and metal festival.

Ben Ray wrote on Facebook: “We are sad to say we have been informed that H2O will not be appearing at this year’s Slam Dunk Festival.

“Although we had them confirmed by their UK representative, apparently there was miscommunication with their US people, which resulted in a double booking.

“This is neither the fault of the band nor festival and we’re sure we will have them play again on another event.

“This is this first time this has happened in nine years of the festival so it has come as a bit of a shock.”

Slam Dunk uses a combination of seven indoor and outdoor stages across three urban sites to create a totally unique festival experience.

Tickets are priced at £35, and £39 with after show party across all sites.
