The first concert of the autumn season staged by Weston Music Society will welcome celebrated baroque violinist Rachel Podger, above, to the atmospheric surroundings of the village’s parish church.

Rachel is known for her playing of Bach’s work and her solo will feature pieces from her award-winning CD Guardian Angel. A Society spokesman said: “Rachel is the pre-eminent baroque violinist of our time.

“We are proud, not to say astonished, that she has agreed to play for us.”

Find out more about the concert on Saturday, October 3, at www.westonmusicsociety.org.uk or call 01462 790573 to reserve tickets.
