A legendary musician will return to the town of his birth to top the bill at this year’s Herts Jazz Festival in Welwyn Garden City.

The annual jazz showcase will take place at the Hawthorne Theatre, at Campus West, WGC, from Friday, September 12 to Sunday, September 14.

And trombonist and jazz great Chris Barber, who was born in Welwyn Garden City, will headline the opening night with his big band.

Pianist John Taylor and his quartet are the following day’s main event on the Hawthorne Theatre stage.

The Alan Skidmore Quartet with special guest Georgie Fame will headline the Sunday night.
