And the orchestra continues its season of popular classics at Hertford Theatre this weekend with a concert featuring Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture and Clarinet Concerto, along with Mahler’s magnificent Symphony No.1.

Saturday’s concert showcases the HSO’s principal clarinet, Colin Eldred, as soloist in the Clarinet Concerto.

Colin studied with John Myatt and John McCaw and is well known locally as a solo performer and chamber music recitalist.

Past performances have included the Max Bruch Concerto for clarinet and viola, various clarinet quintets, wind quintet concerts, and clarinet and piano recitals with Barbara Manning.

Tickets for Saturday cost £15 adults, £12 concessions and £5 children.

They are available from the box office on 01992 531500.
