The Magic of Motown is coming to the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters BarThe Magic of Motown show will be entertaining fans at the Wyllyotts Theatre, off Darkes Lane, on Saturday, February 16.
Celebrating its 10th year, the busiest touring production featuring the music of Motown Records in the UK has announced its 2013 itinerary – with Potters Bar one of the destinations.
This non-stop spectacular features 36 massive chart-toppers from The Supremes, Temptations, Four Tops, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Martha Reeves, Lionel Richie and many more.
An all-star cast and talented live band will faithfully reproduce Motown’s original Detroit sound.
The Magic of Motown is coming to the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar“This year is a very special one as far as Motown is concerned,” said show producer Michael Taylor.
“It marks 50 years of number one hits from the world’s favourite record label.”
In 1963, Motown regularly topped the charts in America.
Heat Wave by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, You Really Got a Hold On Me by The Miracles, It Should’ve Been Me by Kim Weston, Fingertips Pt 2 by Little Stevie Wonder and Can I Get a Witness by Marvin Gaye paved the way for the label’s meteoric rise to become the most influential and successful record label of all time.
To mark the occasion, The Magic of Motown is preparing to sign, seal and deliver – with a nod to Stevie Wonder – its biggest production in its 10-year history.
Male lead Andre Lejaune explained the cast spent the end of last year rehearsing an all-new arena show for 2013 to celebrate this golden anniversary.
“With many new numbers added to our already hit-packed show we needed to ensure the choreography was right on point,” said the talented Floridian singer.
“The show is called The Magic of Motown for a reason, it’s our job to ensure theatregoers have a truly magical night to remember.”
Tickets cost £20 and concessions £19. Call the box office on 01707 645 005 or book online at www.hertsmereleisure.co.uk/wyllyotts+theatre
