CLASSICAL musician Julian Lloyd Webber will be performing in Welwyn Garden City this week.
Widely regarded as one of the most creative musicians of his generation, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s cello playing brother has collaborated with an extraordinary array of musicians from Yehudi Menuhin, Lorin Maazel, Neville Marriner and Georg Solti to Stephane Grappelli, Elton John and Cleo Laine.
Now he brings his virtuoso style to the Hawthorne Theatre, at Campus West, on Thursday, October 17 for An Evening With Julian Lloyd Webber.
Accompanied by Rebeca Omordia at the piano, this evening is a must for all music lovers as the so-called ‘doyen of British cellists’ shares some of his favourite pieces and anecdotes.
Including pieces by Bach, Britten and Faure – plus work by his father, the composer William Lloyd Webber, his brother, the famous Andrew Lloyd Webber, and some compositions of his own – the evening also features a question and answer session with the audience, giving music lovers the chance to quiz this gifted musician.
* An Evening With Julian Lloyd Webber, at the Hawthorne Theatre, WGC, is on Thursday, October 17 at 8pm.
Tickets are £27, and £24 with a Zebra Card.
