The Iain Ballamy Quartet will play Herts Jazz Club at Campus West on Sunday night from 7.45pm.

Renowned in Europe as the ‘fantastic Englishman’, Ballamy established himself playing alongside the likes of Hermeto Pascoal, the late Gil Evans, George Coleman, Dewey Redman, Mike Gibbs and the New York Composers Orchestra.

Joining him in WGC will be Steve Melling on piano, Mark Hodgson on bass and Clark Tracey on drums.

A Herts Jazz spokesman said: “We are lucky to be hosting Iain at Campus West, playing a set of standards in his own inimitable way with Clark Tracey’s trio.”

Touring extensively worldwide, Ballamy has appeared at most international festivals and venues and can be heard on more than 40 CDs.

Tickets cost £11 if bought online and £13 at the doors. Club members pay £8 and tickets cost just £5 for students and under-21s.
