Cars and planes can both be enjoyed at IWM Duxford this August Bank Holiday weekend.

Experience a fantastic car show at IWM Duxford this Bank Holiday Sunday.

Visitors to the historic airfield on August 27 can experience a fantastic day out with the opportunity to explore hundreds of contemporary and classic vehicles close up at the Duxford Summer MotorFest.

MotorFest will feature an extensive array of vehicles presented by car clubs and owners themselves.

Visitors will also get a chance to view models from famous manufacturers, and the unusual sight of IWM Duxford being taken over by both vintage and modern vehicles.

In addition to Motorfest, visitors can browse a great range of pop-up stalls selling food, drink and retail products.

Duxford Aviation Society Military Transport section will be hosting tank rides, and Classic Wings are offering unique flying experiences where participants can fly ‘Wing to Wing’ with a Spitfire. There will be an additional cost for these two activities.

You can also experience personal memories of Duxford’s Battle of Britain in DX17, a major site-specific contemporary art installation by BAFTA Award-winning artist Nick Ryan commemorating 100 years of Duxford’s history and stories.

DX17 is a dramatic, large-scale immersive sound sculpture, roughly the same size as a Spitfire.

Presented in a dramatic darkened space, it takes visitors on a spectacular and tactile journey as they transfer light into sound to hear more than 100 voices and memories from Duxford’s past and present.

Families can also enjoy the wonders of Duxford, including the inspiring exhibitions, and may see thrilling aircraft taking off from the historic airfield.

Entry to the MotorFest display is included within the admission price to IWM Duxford, offering families an entertaining way to enjoy Bank Holiday Sunday.
