A SCHOOLGIRL who pens her own songs has been crowned the best in Herts.
Eleven-year-old Mia Allen, from Stotfold, won the junior acoustic category in the Herts Song Writing competition.
The Etonbury Academy pupil, who plays the piano and violin, impressed judges with her tune Waiting By My Window.
Proud mum Marisa said: “She started composing about a year-and-a-half ago.
“When she heard she’d won, she was just like ‘oh, good’. She’s not the sort of person that jumps for joy, but she was pleased.”
