One of the top jazz trumpet players on the scene will be performing in Welwyn Garden City this evening.

Steve Waterman makes a welcome return to Herts Jazz Club tonight (Sunday).

He will join the Clark Tracey Trio in the Hawthorne Theatre complex, at Campus West, from 7.30pm.

Steve began his career while studying at Trinity College Of Music, and since then has worked regularly on the British and European jazz scene.

He has recorded many critically acclaimed CDs under his own name, and has worked with John Surman’s Brass Project, recording a CD on the ECM label.

As a composer, Steve has had a number of commissions, ranging from small group to big band.

He will be playing trumpet on Sunday alongside Gareth Williams on piano, Arnie Somogyi on bass and Clark Tracey on drums.

Established in 1969, Herts Jazz is particularly keen to bring jazz to a wider audience and is making advance tickets available for just £3 to students and under-21s.

Advance tickets for club members are £8 members, it is £10 for concessions and the full price is £11.
