Friends Music returns to the Free Church in Welwyn Garden City for its June concert.
Joely Koos and Marianne Hardisty will play music for cello at the Church Road venue this evening (Sunday).
Organisers are pleased to welcome back professional cellist Joely.
She is returning with one of her postgraduate students from Trinity College, Marianne Hardisty, to perform music for cello and piano.
Joely will be performing the fourth of Bach’s suites for solo cello. For some people these suites represent absolute perfection in musical composition, so an opportunity to hear one performed by a leading cellist should not be missed.
Following the Bach, Marianne and pianist Lucía Álvarez Núñez will perform music by Samuel Barber and a Shostakovich sonata.
Marianne and Lucía have performed extensively in their own rights in solo and chamber music concerts, and have been together as a duo for 18 months, giving many recitals in London and the South East.
Admission to Sunday’s concert is free and the concert will raise money for charity.
It starts at 6pm.
