HATFIELD music festival Folk by the Oak is in the running for three gongs at the prestigious 2013 UK Festival Awards.
The annual festival of award-winning contemporary folk takes place in the leafy grounds of Hatfield House each summer, the day after the annual Battle Proms classical concert.
And Folk by the Oak 2013 has been nominated in the ‘Best Family Festival’ and the ‘Best Small Festival’ categories in the UK Festival Awards.
The festival held in Hatfield Park is also shortlisted in the ‘Best Toilets’ section.
A FBTO spokeswoman said: “Being a one-day festival and close to transport links, Folk by the Oak is particularly suitable for those with young families who feel they want to get back into the festival scene but without the rigmarole of camping with kids.”
The summer’s line-up of headliners included Kate Rusby, Oysterband and Lau to name but a few and the event raised more than £4,000 for Old Hatfield-based charity The Willow Foundation.
Festival-goers have until midday on Friday, November 1 to vote at www.festivalawards.com/vote
You could even be in with a chance of winning a ‘Dream Summer’ prize, as one lucky voter will win two free tickets to every UK Festivals’ award-winning festival in 2014.
