BONFIRE Night 2013 is fast approaching and a series of huge public firework displays are being arranged across Hertfordshire to mark the occasion, including one in Ware.
The 42nd annual Ware Fireworks Display will take place the weekend before Guy Fawkes’ Night on Saturday, November 2 at its usual venue.
Thousands are expected to turn up on the corner of High Oak Road and Kingsway, in Ware, to enjoy fireworks and a bonfire.
Gates will open at 5.30pm. The bonfire will be lit around 6.30pm and the firework display is expected to begin around 7pm.
Ticket prices are £5 for adults and £3 for children under-14. A family ticket, for two adults and two children, costs £13.
As in previous years, there will also be some funfair attractions, as well as stalls selling hot food and drinks.
Both Grasmere Road and the section of High Oak Road between Kingsway and Musley Hill will be closed to traffic on the night between 5pm and 8.30pm, for the safety of people attending the event.
The popular display is once again being organised by the three Rotary Clubs that meet in the town – Amwell, Ware and Hertford Shires.
There is no car park at this event.
