A SPECTACULAR firework display is set to light up the night sky in Hatfield next month to mark Bonfire Night 2013.
Hatfield House’s annual display returns this year on Saturday, November 2 – three days before Guy Fawkes Night itself.
Gates to Hatfield Park will open at 5pm and the bonfire will be lit around 6.30pm. All entrance gates are due to close at 6.45pm.
Tickets cost £6 for adults in advance, £3 for children and it is free for under-fives. Tickets can be booked online at www.hatfield-house.co.uk
On the night, tickets will be available on the gate at £7 per adult and £3 per child. This, however, will be cash only.
Jack FM will be providing an 80s-themed disco as entertainment and build up to the firework display. The Knebworth-based station has put together a special theme track which Fantastic Fireworks will set off the fireworks to.
There will also be a funfair and catering units offering hot food and drinks. The event is sponsored by Seat Hatfield.
It is forbidden for anyone to bring pets or fireworks – including sparklers – to the display. Gazebos are not permitted either.
This year’s display will be in support of Welwyn Hatfield mayor Howard Morgan’s charities, which are Friendship House and Jubilee House, as well as the Hertfordshire Air Ambulance.
Free car parking will be provided within the Hatfield House estate, but organisers ask that as many people as possible walk or use public transport to get to the site.
Station Lodge, opposite Hatfield railway station, and Fore Street Lodge, at the top of Fore Street, will be for pedestrian access only.
George’s Gate, opposite the Citroen garage, will be open for cars. However, there will be a 10-minute drive to the location, followed by a five to 10 minute walk to the location of the firework display.
North Lodge, off the A1000, and the entrance off the A414 will be open and signposted. Entering via these entrances will involve parking in an area with a five to 10 minute walk.
Disabled parking is available from all three vehicle entrance.
