Hatfield House’s now annual display will return this year on Saturday, November 3 – two days before Bonfire Night itself.

There were no Guy Fawkes night explosives in Hatfield Park last November 5, as the Hertfordshire stately home held a massive display earlier in the year to mark its 400th anniversary, with the house used as the backdrop.

The 2012 display will take place back in the Queen Elizabeth Oak Field – not where last September’s event took place.

Gates will open at 5pm and the bonfire will be lit around 6.30pm.

Entertainment will be provided by Knebworth-based Jack FM in the build-up to the fireworks.

There will also be a funfair and catering units offering hot food and drinks.

Tickets cost £6 for adults and £3 for children.

Advanced tickets can be purchased in person from Campus West in Welwyn Garden City, by phoning 01707 357117 or via the box office website – click on the ‘buy tickets’ link above right.

Tickets will also be available on the gate on the night. However, this will be by cash only.

Free car parking will be provided within the Hatfield House estate, but organisers are asking for as many people as possible to walk or use public transport to get to the site to avoid traffic chaos.

Station Lodge, opposite Hatfield train station, and Fore Street Lodge – at the top of Fore Street – will be for pedestrian access only.

George’s Gate – opposite the Citroen Garage – will be open for cars but there will be a 15 to 20 minute walk to the location of the firework display.

North Lodge, off the A1000, and the estate’s entrance off the A414 will be open and signposted. Entering via these entrances will involve parking in an area with a five to 10 minute walk.

No pets or fireworks, including sparklers, are allowed on the site.
