ET: The Extra-Terrestrial will be phoning home from The Weston Auditorium in Hatfield.
Steven Spielberg classic ET: The Extra-Terrestrial is just one of the movies being shown at the University of Hertfordshire as part of the new Saturday Morning Pictures series.
UHArts presents a monthly family film event with a difference.
Each season the films screened will follow a theme, and each screening will be accompanied by an arts and crafts workshop.
This year’s theme is movies about finding unexpected friendships, and children and adults will delight in these specially chosen tales of friendship played out on the big screen.
The films featured this season include The Iron Giant, an animated adaptation of the Ted Hughes children’s novel, Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were Rabbit, The Muppet Christmas Carol, the Charles Dickens classic by way of Kermit and Miss Piggy, the original and best big screen adaptation of Charlotte’s Web and ET: The Extra-Terrestrial.
Each accompanying workshop lasts approximately 45 minutes, and they are designed to introduce children to film production skills such as puppetry, illustration, and model-making in a fun and creative way. Places are limited, therefore advanced booking is recommended.
Saturday Morning Pictures takes place at The Weston Auditorium in Hatfield.
Admission to each film is £2.50 per child and free for accompanying adults. Places on the workshop are £3.50 per child.
