ENTER Shikari are preparing another assault on the senses with a series of releases between now and Christmas.
The Hertfordshire quartet have just released a new live video, are preparing an ‘arts and crafts’ live vinyl LP and are putting the finishing touches to their official Pack Of Thieves promo video. All this as they gear up for a forthcoming UK tour.
Having just returned from a quick weekend of shows in Russia, and started a North American tour in the company of Falling In Reverse and Letlive, Enter Shikari display an almost psychotic aversion to letting the grass grow beneath their collective feet by launching into a series of releases and activities to see out 2012.
First up, Rou Reynolds, Rob Rolfe, Rory Clewlow and Chris Batten have unveiled a live promo video for the track Gandhi Mate, Gandhi, which was filmed at the band’s sell-out Hammersmith Apollo show back in March.
The video can be viewed in all its glory on YouTube.
This leads neatly into the news that Live In London W6. Bootleg Series Vol.4 will be released to coincide with the band’s UK tour in December.
How this ultimately gets released is still up for debate. It might come out on DVD or possibly audio via iTunes – check the band’s website for the latest.
One thing that definitely is happening is selected tracks from the show will be released as a very limited white vinyl LP.
Not only that, but every sleeve has been hand-painted by the band in their secret Hertfordshire fortress – 125 of them each, in one of four different colours.
These will be available only through the band’s online store http://www.entershikari.com/store in December. Pre-orders will be announced soon.
The band’s US label, Hopeless Records of Los Angeles, California, is releasing a North American only live 7in and three-track download, featuring Gandhi Mate, Gandhi, Stalemate and Sssnakepit all recorded at the same show.
These three tracks are also available via iTunes at http://smarturl.it/shikariliveinlondon
On top of all this, the proper promo video for A Flash Flood Of Colour track Pack Of Thieves is currently in the edit process and will be unveiled very soon.
All this activity leads nicely into the band’s December tour with Cancer Bats and Engine-Earz Experiment as support, with London dates at the Roundhouse on Sunday, December 16 and Monday, December 17.
The first London show has already sold out, but tickets for the second date are available from http://www.entershikari.com/shows and usual agents.
