Comedy will be back on the bill at a Welwyn Garden City sports centre tonight (Friday).

Collywobblers’ monthly comedy night returns to the Gosling Sports Park this evening (Friday, May 30).

The stand-up show in the Collingwood Suite is due to star Ian Cognito and James Dowdeswell, plus special guests Jack Campbell and Annabel O’Connell.

The evening’s MC will be Sion James and there will also be a joke competition and free Lollipops, too.

Taking place at the Stanborough Road sports centre, advance tickets costing £10 are available online or from the Gosling Sports Park reception.

Doors at 7.30pm, with the show starting at 8.30pm.

Entry on the door is £15, and £10 concessions.

Collywobblers’ nights feature a variety of award-winning comedy with big name TV stars, circuit favourites, rising stars and special guests in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

The Gosling show promises laughs a plenty, with Ian Cognito regarded as a “blazing talent as a stand-up” by Time Out.

Star of BBC’s Russell Howard’s Good News, James Dowdeswell has also appeared in Ricky Gervias’ Extras and Channel 4’s Celebrity Deal Or No Deal with Jimmy Carr.

The line-up will also feature Jack Campbell and Annabel O’Connell, a finalist in the 2012 Craic Attack Competition in Ireland.

Proceedings will be held together by MC Sion James, who his noted for riffing with the audience.

A ‘lovable giant’, he has MC’d comedy shows at the Benicassim Festival in Spain, at Hop Farm in Kent and at Glastonbury.

A percentage of profits from the WGC show after costs have been covered will be donated to YMCA Central Herts.
