It’s a candlelight cracker – John Webster’s macabre Elizabethan masterpiece The Duchess of Malfi is the first presentation in a new season of Shakespeare’s Globe On Screen, which brings ‘as live’ screenings of classic stage drama to local cinemas, offering audiences a ticket to the best seat in the house.

Well, that’s worked out very nicely for the clever programmers at Royston’s Picture Palace – the movie which took top honours at the Oscars on Sunday night is showing in town this weekend.
