THE opening movie in the Elstree Film Season’s spring calendar will be shown in Hatfield this week.
Village of the Damned (12) will be screened as part of the UH Arts film season at the University of Hertfordshire on Thursday, March 14 at 7pm.
Made in 1960, this British sci-fi classic is the eerie tale of the blond-haired glowing-eyed children of the small English village Midwich.
What demonic force lurks behind those eyes?
Hosted by The Elstree Project – a film heritage initiative created by the Hatfield-based university and Elstree Screen Heritage – the season also includes Hammer Horror classic The Devil Rides Out (15) on March 28 and a cult 60s television double bill of The Avengers and The Prisoner on April 18.
The screenings all take place at the university’s impressive Weston Auditorium on the de Havilland Campus in Hatfield.
Tickets are £4 each, and can be purchased from the UHArts box office on 01707 281127 or online at www.herts.ac.uk/artsandgalleries
