AN actor who has appeared in medical drama Casualty and soap Hollyoaks will provide the laughs at a comedy club in Hertfordshire this week.
NEED a good laugh? Then pop along to The Horn for the latest Happy Shark Comedy Club night.
Following on from a second successive sell-out show, Happy Shark returns to the newly-refurbished pub in Victoria Street, St Albans, tomorrow (Monday).
They say laughter is the best medicine. Well, a former Casualty star will be providing the cure to Monday’s beginning-of-the-week boredom syndrome.
For September’s monthly show will be headlined by James Redmond, who found fame playing Finn in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, and later Abs in more than 200 episodes of Casualty.
He has since gone on to become an established comic.
Opening the show will be Luke McQueen, considered to be one of the most exciting and inventive young comedians in the UK at the moment.
Luke inadvertently launched himself into the public eye after filming his elaborate attempts at winning back an ex-girlfriend and posting them on YouTube.
Within days these videos received national press coverage and went viral.
Completing this month’s line-up will be Barnaby Slater and Josh Bunting.
The night will be compered by Rob Heeney, who has built up a reputation for being one of the finest MCs around, with his playful and charming nature and excellent ad-libbing skills.
The Happy Shark Comedy Club runs on the first Monday of every month at The Horn. With all proceeds going to Open Door homeless shelter in St Albans, it also offers comedy-goers the opportunity to do something good at the same time as having a great night out.
Tickets are just £6 in advance and are available from www.happysharkcomedy.co.uk, where you can also find further details about the club, or in person from The Horn.
If available, tickets will be available on the door for £7.
Group bookings are also welcome with various meal options available.
