A NEW contemporary art exhibition will take place at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield next month, featuring work by acclaimed artist Caroline Achaintre.
Camp Coo examines the junctures between the ancient and modern, the familiar and the exotic, the psychological and the physical.
The exhibition at the university’s Art and Design Gallery takes you on a journey into one’s self, as well as to an imagined far away, other place.
With a nod to the long lost divide between abstraction and figuration, Caroline’s ceramic works produced during her residency at the Hatfield-based university build on the visual explosions of her wool tufted works.
She has participated in group exhibitions at the Whitechapel Gallery and Saatchi Gallery in London, as well as galleries in Rome, Paris, New York and Berlin.
Camp Coo takes place in Hatfield from March 1 to 4 May 4. Admission is free.
