A WARTIME web of intrigue awaits readers of On the Spot, a novel by Brookmans Park author AW Gardner.
The book’s blurb says how a body is found by the side of a railway, stripped naked and no one can identify the victim.
Hours before World War One comes to an end, with an armistice agreed and no need for any more bloodshed, a major sends an entire platoon on a suicidal mission.
And two men are found dead in Camden Town.
Some time after the war has ended, a handful of survivors find themselves connected by a bizarre series of events.
They may be driven by different goals – seeking revenge, answers or treasure – but all find themselves drawn into the same mystery, and all are about to learn the same thing; there is no such thing as coincidence.
The 334-page novel, the fifth by AW Gardner, is described as “masterful prose with a compelling narrative”.
The book is published by Indepenpress Publishing Ltd and is available from Amazon.co.uk, Waterstones.com, Tesco.com and other booksellers priced £8.99.
