The fourth exhibition in an annual showcase of 20th century masters featuring Salvador Dali and the Surrealists is being shown at Gallery Rouge in St Albans.

The exhibition at the Chequer Street gallery, which opens on Saturday, pays homage to the most ground-breaking movement in art history.

Arguably one of the most recognisable and imitated artists of all time, Salvador Dali grew up in the foothills of the Pyrenees – a landscape which informed and inspired his early yet sophisticated drawings.

Weaved into his dream narrative were themes of religion, psychoanalysis and time which were played out throughout his lifetime and continue to be referenced in modern popular culture.

Entitled Salvador Dali and the Surrealists, the exhibition will offer pieces including original lithographs, etchings and drawings for acquisition, not only from Dali but contemporary revolutionary talents such as Picasso and Miro.

To find out which works are for acquisition, register at stalbans@galleryrouge.co.uk.
