Mayor Annie met Orphan Annie when two rising stars of St Albans Operatic Society came face to face with the district’s first lady last Friday.

Sophie Stevens and Evie Lilley, who jointly play the character of Annie in the musical of the same name, had an invitation to meet the Mayor, Cllr Annie Brewster, outside the Alban Arena.

Operatic Society chairman, Shaun Phillips, said: “It’s fantastic that we have the Mayor’s support in our production and we hope she enjoys the show. These girls are both incredibly talented, and are a joy to work with. They have both worked really hard in rehearsals over the past few months.”
