The Amalia Trio comprises Jennifer Wigram (violin), Michael Wigram (cello) and Lynn Carter (piano).

They will be playing the Piano Trio by Tchaikovsky, Opus 50, a collection of variations written by him in memory of his great friend and mentor, Nikolai Rubinstein.

Reluctant at first to compose for such a combination of instruments, a tour de force eventually emerged, with a number of exhilarating variations extending the capabilities of all the soloists.

The concert will take place at 1pm at St Peter’s Church, St Albans, with a retiring collection for Grove House hospice.
