Tonight sees the return of the formidable Alan Barnes to Herts Jazz Club.

He will be appearing in an informal setting with drummer Clark Tracey’s trio.

Alan’s reputation precedes him. He’s a consistent poll winner over decades, with a vast range of experience at the top level.

The saxophonist recently featured on the new Bryan Ferry ‘Jazz Age’ recording and The Great Gatsby soundtrack.

He has also toured with Paloma Faith and the Guy Barker Orchestra, as well as fulfilling his own busy freelance schedule.

Joining Alan Barnes and Clark Tracey in the area near Humphrey’s Cafe at the Hawthorne Theatre will be Steve Melling on piano and Mark Hodgson on bass.

The music starts at 7.30pm.

Due to refurbishment work at Campus West, Herts Jazz Club gigs will be in a more intimate space this season, with a smaller capacity, so early booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.

Advance tickets cost £3 students, £8 club members, £10 concessions and £13 full.

The price on the night rises to £5 for students and under-21s, £9 Herts Jazz members, £11 concessions and £13 full.
