THE Wimbledon dream of Georgie Stoop is over for another year after her and partner Laura Robson lost in the second round of the ladies doubles this afternoon.

Starting at noon, the pair found themselves against the formidable pairing of Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova and France's former world number one Amelie Mauresmo - the 16th seeds - on court 12

The experience of their opponents shone through, however, and Stoop and Robson put in a dogged fight before going down in straight sets 6-3 6-4.

The pair had beaten fellow Brits Jade Curtis and Anna Smith in an epic first round tie on Wednesday 6-4 3-6 13-11 to get to the second round.
