WELWYN Wheelers’ world champion Laura Trott has been selected for the Great Britain London 2012 Olympic Games squad.
Selections for the GB Olympic cycling team have been confirmed by the British Olympic Association, with 18 athletes officially named to represent Team GB.
Trott is named in the squad alongside the likes of Beijing Olympic Games triple gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy, road race world champion Mark Cavendish and Olympic road race champion Nicole Cooke.
Hertfordshire’s Trott has already enjoyed a fantastic year on the track.
The 20-year-old won gold at the World Championships in Melbourne earlier this year in the team pursuit and omnium.
Those medals were added to the European and World team pursuit title and European omnium crown she claimed in 2011.
