JORDAN Hardwidge, Royston Golf Club's most improved player this year, won the junior medal winners' final on Saturday with a net 66 in tough conditions.

His inward nine of 37, just three over par, gave him a five-shot victory that has now seen his handicap trimmed to 15, having started the year on 28.

Jonathan Brain was runner-up with a net 71, the same score as his younger brother, Alex, but Jonathan had the better back nine.

In the junior stableford, new member Adam Wright scored an impressive 43 points, Tom Porter came second with 42 and junior captain Matthew Barrett finished third with 40 points.

Barrett was also beaten to the junior order of merit by Daniel Smith.

Three ladies tied for the bogey competition last week, with Mary Wilson taking the honours ahead of Kath Caunce and Jenny Jarvis on countback.

All three players finished on five under par.
