ROYSTON earned their first three league points of the season with this slender victory over newly relegated Berkhamstead.

Scoring chances were few and far between but following a tight first half both sides pushed forward looking to break the deadlock.

Royston claimed victory with the vital and only goal three minutes from time when Nick Hurd deflected a cross from Andy Drage into the net.

Royston II 5 Cheshunt II 0

ROYSTON took 10 minutes to make the breakthrough when Nick Freeman scored. A second goal came soon afterwards from man of the match Mike Welding.

Before the interval Freeman claimed a second and Royston's third after good work by Frost, Welding, skipper Darren Hicks and Chris Watson.

Goals from Watson and Hicks completed the scoring.

Royston V 2 Rickmansworth III 3

ROYSTON found themselves two goals down after 15 minutes.

Rickmansworth scored a third in the second half in between two strikes from Colin Bateman.

Other result: Royston III 0 Luton Vagrants 1.
