Golf: Clifton pips Handscombe to championship

Heydon Grange men competed in the Club Championship at the weekend.

After the first round of the stroke play competition played over two days on Essex and Cambs courses, Graham Handscombe was leading by four shots.

At the end of round two, Trevor Clifton won by one shot from Handscombe with a gross score of 170. The nett winner with a score of 147 was Vince Budd with John Rodham coming second with a score of 149 .
