Bassingbourn U12s kick started their season with a well deserved 4-2 victory over Buntingford Cougars Whites in a game that was played in an excellent spirit.

The pace of Bassingbourn’s forwards caused problems for the Cougars’ defence all day long but it was Cougars who took the lead.

However, two goals from Max Logan put Bassingbourn 2-1 up at half time before completing his hat-trick soon into the second half.

Cougars did pull one back but Michael Hicks got his reward for a good performance when he rounded the ‘keeper to score Bassingbourn’s fourth. Bassingbourn were unlucky not to get more with Logan and Hicks both going close.
