JUNIOR players Tom Finch and Sam Turner came out on top of their respective matchplay tournaments at Royston Tennis Club at the weekend.

Tom won the mini red event while Sam, pictured with his winner’s medal, triumphed in the green competition.

Meanwhile, in the Cambs Leagues the first mixed matches of the season started with the second team (Jen Townsend, Erwin Phillips, Annabel Barrett and Sam Tobiss) drawing 4-4 at home to Cambourne.

The first team of Pru Burton Andy Holmes, Kathy Betts and Matt Fellingham lost their first match away 6-2 to David Lloyd IIs and the mixed IIIs team of Emma Windred, David Addison, John Goodbody and Emma Daintrey, won 5-3 away to Orwell.
